Coola was an opponent that could have appeared later

It would have made more sense for coola to appear way later. Say Movie 9:

Coola hears of Freeza’s & King Cold’s defeat & decides to head to earth for revenge (since he is eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil, but since he’s such a long way away it takes him years to get there (I know it’s crazy but it’s non-canon so who cares).

Coola reaches earth after Cell’s defeat.
He can sense ki so he finds the heroes.

He’s either like “Who is Son-Goku?” in which case they are like he is dead or “Who defeated my father & brother?” in which case Trunks is like it was me.

Coola tells them to prepare themselves & that he won’t be as easily defeated as his relatives, but he gets trashed. They say something like “You might be more powerful than your brother, but he’s no longer an opponent we can’t handle.”

They tell them to leave & stop this pointless fighting. Vegeta since he’s like still evil is like “yeah right as if Freeza’s brother would just go-on to live a peaceful life”

Coola tells them they’d like him to leave wouldn’t they.

He reveals he can transform once more.

He defeats everyone easily.

Gets one-shotted by maybe SSJ2 Vegeta.

Happily ever after.

This makes way more sense.

I know if anyone bothered to read it they’d point it out, but see I just don’t really like the idea of Gohan vs Coola in the first place so I said Vegeta’d be the one to defeat Coola. It’d be interesting with Vegeta anyway since Coola is Freeza’s brother.

That said Gohan would also be an interesting parallel to the Cell saga. Remember that the Cell saga happens because Dr. Gero wants revenge on Goku & he made the cyborgs specifically to defeat Goku, but in the end it turns-out Gohan is the one to defeat Cell. In a somewhat parallel Coola comes to defeat Goku but Gohan is the one to defeat him.

Either way I think Vegeta having SSJ2’d be kewl in its own way. You could foreshadow him having it in the Boo saga.

That’s a good question. I was mainly trying to go off what felt like a good idea to me, but whatever makes sense is better. It should be noted though that I don’t think SSJ2 has a canon static boost given, so it doesn’t have to be 2x. Perhaps SSJ2 makes Cell-Games Vegeta go from Gohan >>> to >>> SSJ Gohan power-wise. And no definitely not. None of them are nerfed. Otherwise my point of making this take place after the Cell saga wouldn’t make sense.

Your point is true though, so maybe it’s better Gohan one-shots Coola.

Yeah, I was thinking that since I think the idea’d be that Coola would defeat them all easily so Gohan’s power would also not be enough to defeat him.

I was thinking that since Trunks might be like I defeated your brother & father as can be seen in the OP, Coola since he’s so evil would be like you are the first to go since you defeated my brother & father (think SPC when he returned) and like vs SPC Vegeta gets angry af but only this time he becomes an SSJ2 as-well. That makes sense to me.

Also of-course perhaps add some character stuff like Coola respecting his father but seeing Freeza as annoying & not caring about him, like “Father, you were such a fool why didn’t you ask me for help?” or something overly sentimental like that.

What good reason would there be for Coola taking 10 years to take his revenge lol? Anyway I think Gohan being the most power-ful is the best. He just wouldn’t transform SSJ2 at will in movie (like in Bojack Unbound). Vegeta could transform or Gohan defeats Coola, if it’s not the best idea. Like I said there’s no canonical SSJ2 boost nothing states Vegeta couldn’t surpass SSJ Gohan’s power with SSJ2.

Don't know how credible this is but the DB Multiverse wiki (the first place that popped up when I Googled it) says they're race has a long lifespan so 10 years really isn't shit compared to how long they live.

Still though. 10 years might seem a bit overkill, but like I said if you prefer the outcome Gohan could also defeat Coola with SSJ2. After-all Gohan was the most powerful then.

After getting owned in a second by the team (after “Prepare yourselves”), Trunks with a slightly hesitant & relieved expression is like:
“If this gai had shown-up with Freeza-tachi then, the earth might not (or wouldn’t) exist any-more. This gai is un-believably more power-full than Freeza.”
or like:
“If this gai had shown-up with Freeza-tachi then, I/we might have been in trouble.”
In a meta-way this confirms:
Android-Saga Super-Saiya-Jins/Piccolo >>> Coola >/>~ SSJ Goku & Trunks

Gohan continues:
“But as it stands now neither you nor Freeza are any match for us any-more, so please stop this point-less fighting & leave.”

Vegeta says his line.

Coola first shocked but then is like “fufufu” & goes:
“You would like that wouldn’t you? I never thought I’d have to resort to this, but you gais will be the first to see this, because you see I can transform a stage further than Freeza.”

It continues as said before already.

Coola says he will end them all now, but first he will start with Trunks, because he’s a crazy MF & messed-up & torture him slowly. His reason? He defeated his piece of sheeeet father. Coola does 3rd Form Freeza/Piccolo thing or what-ever. Or maybe just SPC thing which isn’t really torture, but slow & pain-full you know. & Trunks is coughing-up like vs Cell.

Vegeta has flash-backs about Freeza & family or specifically about Namek when Freeza turned him crying & defeating him & now this facking family dare do this to Trunks? His son? How dare they? He gets angry like against SPC, but this time powers-up to SSJ2 & one-shots Coola & ends Freeza-clan for good.

Vegeta realises he can still get more power-full than he did before & after only initially joining the fight because it’s Freeza-related (or maybe he joins the fight when Trunks specifically is singled-out he is now confident again that he can further push his limits like before.

Movie ends with Vegeta training in training-room with a determined expression.
“I can still get more power-full. This isn’t my limit. I won’t lose to you, Kakarotto.”

Bulma says some-thing out-side the room to the others like:
“It seems Vegeta has gone back to his old self lately.

This would make it so, Goku did what Vegeta couldn’t on Namek & some-how Vegeta in a more brutal way did what Goku couldn’t here (because too power-full & already dead). Vegeta hates Freeza & is done with the family for good after ending them in a brutal way (in his brain).
