It is, but mobile users can't use it on safari. Or at least I dunno how to. It is still an issue for mobile users.

I use Safari on iPhone

Instead of Youtube with friggin ads i have the Music Video app with the those cursed 30 unskippable ads, those are the worst ever.

I have Chrome and Firefox for Android so I'm good.

Yes on the laptop, but no on phones.
I wouldn't worry regardless.

If you guys wish to block ads on iOS, you can get Adblock if you jailbreak, but to my knowledge as of now, only ios 8.1 and below can be Jailbroken.
