Typical Toei nonsense. Gohan's own blast was tanked and one of the writers said Gohan = 17. Maybe infinite stamina allows for better charging somehow.

He wanted to make it look like he struggled, to make it more believable for Toppo. Act of charity for the disabled or enslaved (he assumed Toppo was disabled or a slave because nobody else would end up with that moustache). Like when Superman arrives just in time to save someone, because arriving early got boring. The mental curse of having unlimited energy.
