It was certainly unexpected and the main characters look odd in the overworld (hopefully the designs are refined a bit) but I really like the scenery and the routes. The water in the lake looked pretty fantastic.

I mean, it's okay but I'll always prefer the pixel style when it comes to pokemon.

As I've already said, going full throttle in banking on Gen 4 nostalgia with the models was a bit much, since the designs essentially being 3D versions of the smaller models of the 2D era seem a bit awkward and too much of a step back after having already had well sized models from Gens 6-8. The Oreburgh mines look a bit small when considering the style of game's since the switch to 3D, though I agree aspects such as the lakes look really good.
